How do these peeps draw these cartoon characters professionally?? (ie. The Disney dark characters) I want to make one... but all I know is with a pencil and paper...

they can draw a sketch of one...then they ink it with some sort of thick black pen OR they're pro enough to ink it in painter or photoshop. then they create layers and color it in painter or photoshop. i haven't quite gotten the painting bit down yet. i still put in lots of color and use the smudge tool to make the shadows and lighting. it takes time.
